In brief, sustainable liquid fuels are a less carbon intensive source of energy (utilising carbon captured from the atmosphere or recovered from waste feedstocks), that are economically viable and socially acceptable to end users.
Sustainable fuels are made from renewable material in replacement of fossil fuels. They must also comply with sustainability criteria around things like land use, water footprint, and so on.
Rawco Fuels is an official distributor of SUSTAIN fuel. We cover the entire UK mainland and offer a variety of sustainable fuel and diesel for various different applications. We can deliver all our selected fuels in 10ltr containers all the way up to an entire tanker carrying 40,000ltrs.
SUSTAIN© fuel products are sustainable solutions for different sectors and applications. Sustainable fuels, which are compatible with the existing fleet of internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicles or other ICE applications, are currently at the core of the SUSTAIN product range. SUSTAIN© can immediately help to reduce ICEs impact on global emissions.
Drivers of road, motorsports, and classic vehicles face a critical challenge, how to reduce your impact on the planet. SUSTAIN's fuels address that problem head on by balancing innovation and the environment with advanced sustainable technologies.
Proving performance at the FIA World Rally Raid Championships. With extreme heat and formidable desert conditions to contend with, the Dakar Rally is the ultimate test. Powered by SUSTAIN to achieve three podium performances in consecutive years.
The UK's first publicly available sustainable petrol, designed specifically for classic vehicles. The SUSTAIN Classic range allows motorists to fuel their vintage vehicles with plant-based petrol, without any modifications to their engines.
The average tractor will consume 12.2 litres of diesel per hectare, costing the environment 35kg of CO2/h. (Calculated on the basis that 1 litre of red diesel creates 2.9kg of CO2e). With approximately 17m hectares of farm and agricultural land in the UK, this equates to 601,460 mtCO2e. Many UK farms own between 2 and 4 tractors, so our figures are extremely conservative and could possibly be more than double at 1.2m mtCO2e each year. What's more, these figures do not include tractors travelling on the roads, to and from fields, dropping off and collecting stock or supplies and hedge maintenance. Rawco Fuels will be targeting 2% conversion of UK farms to SUSTAIN fuels over the course of the next 12 months.
The total number of mobile construction machinery operating on UK construction sites is approximately 300,000 units, which consume on average 3 billion litres of diesel every year. If we include the delivery vehicles for materials, the total rises to 5.5 billion litres of diesel year on year. This releases 14.2m mtCO2e into the atmosphere and we should all question, what actually qualifies as an eco home? If 10% of the UK construction industry adopted the SUSTAIN diesel alternative to standard fossil, we could save 1.4m mtCO2e every year.
Race without compromise! No longer do participants in motorsport have to feel guilty of damaging our environment whilst racing. In many ways motorsport has been a huge driving force in finding a solution in reducing CO2e in ICE. Education is key to SUSTAIN becoming a mainstream solution to motorsport and general ICE mobility, and we feel there is no better way than with grassroots motorsport. Rawco Fuels is proud to be working with ADX Motorsport as they run various karting experiences from arrive-and-drive to large corporate events showcasing the SUSTAIN fuels. Rawco Fuels is currently building a database of karting tracks in the UK that will offer SUSTAIN fuel as an alternative to fossil fuel. We can save 12kg CO2e every hour per go kart. With approximately 3,000 corporate go karts in the UK, we could save 39,000 mtCO2e each year.
Rawco Fuels supports Freedom Boat Adventures based on Mersea Island, Essex. The organisation has set itself the target of building a boat that is fully accessible in what is regarded as "a boat for all", with customised wheelhouse for wheelchair access and fully functional toilet for individuals with impairments and disabilities. The team that are currently fundraising for the completion of the build, wanted to use a sustainable alternative to standard fossil fuel options, and we are pleased to support such a great inspiring idea and project. Each boat trip could save the environment 260kg CO2e.
In 2022, the UK road freight transportation and removal industry produced 12.1m mtCO2e, which was a 2.7% decrease from the previous year. Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) accounted for nearly 17% of UK transportation emissions in 2022. As SUSTAIN is a drop in fuel, whereby no modifications to the vehicles ICE is necessary, it makes it a perfect solution for any haulage company looking at ways to implement carbon reduction programmes.
